
Ongoing Collaboratons with Dana Michel
Maurice has worked closely with performers and dancers throughout her practice and frequently collaborates with live artist, Dana Michel.
She has documented Michel’s live performances and created trailers and moving-image works that support their practice. Trailers for her pieces include Cutlass Spring, MIKE and most recently YOU CANNOT CAN.
Together, they have also created films such as Vanessa Vector William Dodger and Yellow Towel: A Score, as well as the video installation LAY THEM ALL DOWN which represented Canada at the 11th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art.LAY THEM ALL DOWN been presented at Helsinki Art Museum HAM, Shedhalle Zürich, The Wexner Center for the Arts, and the Musée des Beaux-Arts. The work was acquired by the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) in 2026 and was recently included in the exhibition Comfort and Indifference.
Most recently, Maurice worked as cinematographer for Michel’s live performance of MIKE at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC).
Their collaboration continues to evolve through a shared interest in experimentation, humor, and trust.
