
Collaboraton with Dana Michel
Maurice has worked closely with performers and dancers throughout their practice. She frequently collaborates with live artist, Dana Michel.
She has documented Michel’s live performances and created trailers and moving-image works that support Michel’s practice, as well as develope independent film collaborations with her. She has created trailers for her pieces including Cutlass Spring, MIKE and most recently You Cannot Can. Together, they have created film projects such as Vanessa Vector William Dodger and Yellow Towel: A Score, as well as Lay Them All Down.
Lay Them All Down represented Canada at the 11th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art and has been presented at Helsinki Art Museum HAM, Shedhalle, the Wexner Center for the Arts, and the Musée des Beaux-Arts. The work was acquired by the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) in 2026 and was recently included in the exhibition Comfort and Indifference.
Most recently, Maurice worked as cinematographer for Michel’s live performance of MIKE at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC).
Maurice’s collaboration with Michel continues to evolve through a shared interest in experimentation, humor, and trust.
